Wouldn't you know it!

Hello peeps,
Would you believe it - having soldiered on to the end of term with a rotten cold, I have felt too poorly for the first three days of the holiday to do anything. Even my husband has realised that I must be poorly because I haven't attempted any crafting, nor have I watched Create and Craft as I lay in my sick bed! Today I had to summon up the energy to make a birthday card for our daughter who will be 27 on Monday. I had coloured this Tilda a while ago and was trying to decide what to do with it. It seemed to take ages to make and to be honest I am not at my most patient.
I decided on a shaped tent card ! Why make life easy for yourself?

I had to fiddle with the size of the bit in the middle to make it fit and now I wish I'd printed the inside paper onto the card so that it would blend in better, but we live and learn. The image is coloured with Promarkers, the flowers are from wild orchids, ribbon from ribbon girl, swirls die cut using a Maryanne creatable die

Good Morning

The holidays have arrived at last which means my house gets cleaned, the ironing gets done and I get to craft! I am determined to make an early start on Christmas cards this year. Last year I left it far too late. Here is another teddy bea image that I coloured up for my boss who has recently returned to crafting and wants to try extreme knitting. The image is coloured with Promarkers. I decoupaged the knitting although you can't see that on the photo.
The papers are from a Cd, flowers from Wild orchids, Ribbon and pearls from stash.
Have a good day

Birthday Wishes

Morning peeps.
Only two days to go now and then it's the holidays. I am looking forward to visiting Card Craft in Preston for their craft extravaganza on Thursday. Nikky Hall from Polka Doodles  is demonstrating on that day, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Today's card is for a friend of mine for her 30th birthday. I used the Indian Tilda, but because part of her legs were showing beneath her sari, I had to cover her legs and feet with some flowers, so as not to offend my fiend who is Muslim. I wanted a small pocket inside the card where a gift voucher could be placed.
The papers and alphabet are from Raspberry Road Designs Pink Lemonade set- please visit them if you haven't already. The papers are to die for.
Flowers and metal corner are from Wild Orchid crafts.
Ribbon and lace from stash.

Last one, promise!

Hi peeps,
It's awful weather here! I have a grumpy husband who is complaining that he can't play tennis so I've told him to take up card making - perfect for this weather. Sadly I can't put his reply into print - but the gist is, one of us receiving jiffy bags full of goodies all the time is quite enough, or words to that effect. This is the absolute last thank you card I am inflicting on you I promise, but all my time has been taken up with these. I am hoping to begin Christmas in the next few weeks. This card is for my 8 year old niece's teacher.
The image is a Belles and whistles, ribbon from stash, charm stash, flowers were a 'find' at the works, Martha Stewart Punch, Nit wit papers - various collections.

I would like to enter it into the following challenges

Totally paper crafts - girlie girls

Just when you thought it was safe...........

.......... to go into the craft room having made 6 thank you cards for work - all different, I have to make two more for my niece and nephew to give to their teachers. So here is the first which would be for a man wouldn't it! As ever I reached for Teddy Bo, this is an image I have been wanting to colour up for some time.

The image is coloured with pro markers. The digi papers are from Nitwit collection - Crabapple Lane. I distressed the edge and inked with tea dye distress ink. I recoloured one of the papers using tea dye distress ink to fit the recipe for the I love promarkers challenge. It's ok, but lacks something - probably wild orchid blooms, but I don't think he would appreciate those!

Addicted

I think I need to go into rehab. I'm addicted to teddy bea and teddy bo. These bears are just too gorgeous for words. This is the last of my thank you cards and one made with a pre-coloured teddy bea. I wanted a sepia look so printed the digi papers ( Raspberry Road) in sepia tones and then added teddy bea. It's for a colleague who takes my class for dance. The design is a sketch from a previous challenge and one I really like so will use over and over.
Flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts, swirl made using a Marianne Creatables Die, ribbon from stash.

Sunday Morning

I love Sunday mornings they are so relaxing once four hungry cats have been fed - they don't understand that at the weekend everything happens that little bit later than during the week. I have had such a good time making this tent card, and will certainly be making more. The photograph doesn't do the colours in this Raspberry Road paper  justice they are just lovely to work with and compliment most images.
Ribbon is from stash, flowers and lace as always wild orchid, swirl cut from the shabby chic music paper inside the card.
I decorated the back of the card to match and added a place to write the message.

I am entering this card into the following challenges
Totally Gorjuss - something summery

Week end blues

Morning all
This weekend is turning into a very sad time. We learned yesterday that an old friend had passed away after a long illness. We will miss you Mike. And our eldest daughter's relationship has ended after six years so lots of tea , sympathy and tissues handed out this morning. Anyway on to happier things.
Here is another thank you card for an Asian colleague made using the Tilda in lace jeans stamp. It is hard to find images for my Pakistani friends since most of the stamps are Indian and show part of the leg uncovered. So if there are any would be digi stamp designers out there or rubber stamp designers there is definitely a niche in the market for images wearing a Salwar Kameez. I think I have managed to get the skin tone shading right but it was a bit hit and miss as this is the first time I have done this.
I used the sketch by Jane for the JustMagnolia Challenge

Image Magnolia Tilda in lace jeans; Gingham paper freebie from Bev Rochester's Blog, Tosca paper - Raspberry Road and small floral from stash. Swirls -Marianne Creatables die; flowers and lace Wild Orchids, ribbon and gems from stash. Faux stitching from nitwit digi papers kit.
