Make your own background

Good Morning,

It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge over at CRAFT Challenge.

Our theme for this week is ‘Make Your Own Background’

Our sponsor this week is Pink Gem Designs and I have used this beautiful vintage stamp called ‘Rose’

I made my background by decopaging some torn dictionary paper which I distressed with my vintage photo ink onto a piece of card.

I then used gesso to soften the edges.

Next I used bundled sage distress ink and a script stamp to stamp over the plain areas of card.

I then used a mica mask and home made texture paste to create the textured brick effect. Once it was dry I gave the paste a coat of Gesso and then painted the bricks lightly with bundled sage ink.

The flowers were made using a Maryanne die and another inked page from the dictionary.

The lace is from my stash and the swirls were Maryanne dies.

‘Rose’ is coloured with Promarkers.

For my project I used this image from A Day For Daisies called Tower of Presents.

I used an old Pringle Box as the base for my Christmas gift box project.

I chose this image to make a birthday card for our friend Clive, who is a keen gardener and who has a birthday today!

The circle side stepper card was cut out on my Silhouette machine using my own file.

The papers and embellishments are from the Finncy’s garden collection from Nitwit Collections

The picket fence was made using a Maryanne die.

Tea For Two

Good morning,

                       It’s Sunday and time for another challenge over at

We're Anything Goes but this weeks optional twist is 

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME!  
Use A Clock or Other Time Piece 

One of our fabulous sponsors is Scrappers Delights

And as my project is anything goes using the twist I chose

Tea Sentiments - a really great set with lots of elements to it.

I used digital papers from  Chicnshabby digitals called Shabby Chic Clocks

I used the sentiment stamps from the set in different orientations to stamp onto the paper.

I used a Lori Whitlock cutting file for my Silhouette Cameo available from the Silhouette design store to create a teapot gift box which I filled with teabags and chocolate biscuits.

The image is from the set and coloured with Promarkers and Flexi markers.

The tag is also part of the set.

The ribbon and lace are from my stash.

CRAFT Challenge DT Call

Good Evening,

There is a Design Team Call over at CRAFT Challenge and those wishing to apply for a position on the team have been asked to create a blog post showing some of their best work and say why  you would like to be part of the team.

The closing date for this call is 31^st March.

I have chosen the following examples because they are amongst my favourites, ones I particularly enjoyed making.

       

        

               

I would love to be part of this talented team because I enjoy the diversity of the challenges they provide. The thing I love most about being part of a DT is the sharing of ideas and being able to visit the blogs of other crafters to see how they have interpreted the challenge. We all learn so much from each other all of the time.

Key To My Heart

Good morning,

It’s the first Friday of the month and time for a new challenge over at

Creative Artistes Mixed Media Challenge

As always our challenge is Anything Goes with a twist – Use Chipboard

For my project I altered a champagne bottle using Gesso, white acrylic paint, decopatch paper, mulberry and silk flowers, lace, feathers and pearl trim.

I then used frontage on a chipboard key and lock, cut a frame for the vintage picture using a spellbinder die. I embossed this with Wow embossing powder.
