Make your own background

Good Morning,

It’s Thursday and time for a new challenge over at CRAFT Challenge.

Our theme for this week is ‘Make Your Own Background’

Our sponsor this week is Pink Gem Designs and I have used this beautiful vintage stamp called ‘Rose’

I made my background by decopaging some torn dictionary paper which I distressed with my vintage photo ink onto a piece of card.

I then used gesso to soften the edges.

Next I used bundled sage distress ink and a script stamp to stamp over the plain areas of card.

I then used a mica mask and home made texture paste to create the textured brick effect. Once it was dry I gave the paste a coat of Gesso and then painted the bricks lightly with bundled sage ink.

The flowers were made using a Maryanne die and another inked page from the dictionary.

The lace is from my stash and the swirls were Maryanne dies.

‘Rose’ is coloured with Promarkers.
