Pickled Potpourri & Digital Papercraft

For my DT card I chose …

'Remember When' by Pickled Potpourri

Since both my mother and mother in law both passed away some time ago, I decided to make a card for my aunt’s 90^th birthday.

'Remember When' by Pickled Potpourri has more than one gorgeous image in the set, but I chose to use these beautiful vintage style gloves and teamed them up with my Marianne Designs fan cutting die.

The image was coloured using Promarkers.

I used the solid die to cut out floral card and the ‘fancy die’ was cut from white card, embossed and then inked through the die with tattered rose distress ink.

The brad and ribbon are from my stash.

The ‘90’ is cut from the floral paper and rose gold glitter card.

The stand was made from the same floral using a Marianne die.

For my DT card I chose …

Mermaid

I’m really not into fairies, goblins, sprites etc so really struggle with fantasy cards.

I cut out the ships wheel om my Cricut Maker along with the distressed wood effect paper.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out.

I mounted it on black and then cut it out again.

The sentiment was made on the PC.

Quirky Parrot

I created the background using watercolours.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and then fussy cut. I then mounted the image onto black and then fussy cut again – I think this makes the image ’pop’. The sentiments were made on the PC.

The gems were from my stash.

For my DT card I chose

Rose Tag

 

I began by creating a gatefold base using a Crafters Companion Edgibility die to create the lace effect.

The paper is from Michelle Roo’s ‘Shabby’ collection.

I then used Promarkers to colour the rose image which I die cut using a stitched circle die. I used the next size circle up to create the mat for the image.

I added some glamour dust glitter to the rose which doesn’t show up too well in the picture.

I cut a strip of paper to act as a belly band to wrap around the card and fixed the image to the front.

I’m really pleased with how this card turned out and intend to make other cards using the basic design.
